75TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY MODEL

Wharfedale celebrates 75 years with the release of a special limited edition of the celebrated Diamond 9.1 loudspeaker.

Very few companies – let alone hi-fi manufacturers - can claim the kind of heritage of which loudspeaker specialist Wharfedale is rightfully proud.

To celebrate this milestone, a special model, based upon the award-winning Diamond 9.1 loudspeaker has been produced. These will be available in strictly limited numbers – only 2,000 pairs available for a world-wide market.

The special edition features a real walnut veneer, finished in ‘wax-oil’ – the same finish and veneer that is applied to the company’s flagship speaker, the ‘Airedale Heritage’. Other features derived from the Airedale include a magnetic, flush-fitting ‘heritage’ grille.

The champagne finish alloy trim and peerless construction make this a desirable loudspeaker for the true hi-fi enthusiast and will undoubtedly become a highly collectable, combining the draw of one of the defining loudspeaker products of this decade with both rarity and a truly superlative build and finish.

Curved braced cabinet: Diamond 9 has a strong, inert, curved and braced cabinet design to reduce cabinet vibration, which reduces colouration, and encourages rapid dissipation of ‘standing waves’ created from rear cone movements reflecting inside the cabinet.
Gold-plated Terminal: Gold-plated contact areas and bridging strips allow firm connections, with offset rear terminal posts for the widest possible choice of connection options.
Crossover: A simple crossover design can maintain phase coherency through the midrange and hence eliminate the negative effects that are introduced where driver correction is needed.
Tweeters: The tweeters use high power ‘rare-earth’ magnets for high resolution and accuracy. This provides the most linear and the fastest response possible response.
Cast Chassis: A special alloy, cast chassis design is incorporated across all diamond models to virtually eliminate rear wave reflections from the chassis legs. This allows air to move freely through the driver and have an even frequency response with much lower distortion.
Dome Midrange: The dome midrange unit on Diamond 9.6 and large centre channel results in improved integration, greater drive-unit headroom, and on excellent dispersion pattern.
